Earlier in the evening, I was going to title this post "Why we have 12-year olds."
We're getting some major snow here right now and Young Boy was out playing in it, shoveling and throwing snowballs with his dad. A site that makes a mom smile.
Just as quickly as you can throw a snowball, a total freak accident happened. Young Boy fell into an old cistern / well full of water and was hanging on for dear life...I was hanging on with him...and so was God.
I'll spare you all the gory details. After a thorough check-over and aside from some scrapes, bumps & bruises and some very sore muscles, Young Boy is fine. Thank you, God! No really...THANK YOU, GOD.
I wasn't going to post about this, but after 2 Advil PM and no sleep, I decided differently. I've never been a real "witness" to God and I think He'd want me to use this opportunity to tell you about Him.
I also just want to share 4 things:
1. If you live on 'older' property (in the country) with well covers and such, PLEASE check them and tell your kiddos NOT to walk on them. Ever. (I can't tell you how many times we walked on that old steel-plate cover.)
2. There IS a God. He listens to your cries for help. He gives you strength that you didn't know you had...just ask me and my 12-yr. old.
3. 911 operators, deputies, EMT's, nurses & doctors are all God's angels, walking around here on earth. It's true.
4. There is nothing more important than your family. Family that you love and family that loves you.
Be well my friends, be well.

Ohmigosh! I am so glad that your guy is ok! Things happen in the blink of any eye, don't they? Hope you can get some rest today!
Blessings,
Polly
Oh My goodness I have goosebumps just reading this!!! Thank The Lord that all is fine!!! So very scary!!! Blessings to your cupcake!!!
it is always amazing how quickly we can go from joy to terror and back again. i like what you said - 'he listens to your cries for help'. glad young boy is ok and you, too. now you're really going to enjoy your weekend albeit with some bumps and bruises!
Praise the Lord! Yes, God is good, all the time.
I'm so glad Jack is OK!! I can't imagine your horror, Tami. Don't we live every day in fear of something bad happening to our kids? And you all just lived through it. Wow! I believe that you ALL deserve LOTS of chocolate. And, I agree, doctors, EMTs, nurses, etc...they are all angels. Every one of them.
Praise God, he is OK! (((HUGS))) to you all, and I'll go give my little guy an extra nuzzle!
Praise God! Thank you for your obedience to share the goodness of God. I am rejoicing with you:)...at the end of the day, our family is really what it's all about...I am sure that your hugs are just a little tighter and a lot more sweeter today....Peace to your heart!
That's a very scary story....I'm so glad the ending was good.
Oh my...my heart was sinking as I read along. I'm so relieved at the outcome. Things happen in the blink of an eye...we're always so fearful of that split second. Thank you for sharing you testimony of what's true. Sending warm thoughts your way. Hugs.
So glad to hear that dear boy is doing well. How very scary. Oh my. I bet he got lots of hugs from you once he was safe!
God bless.
Have a wonderful Sunday.
My goodness, that is a scary tale, my friend. We have an old well, covered with a stack of rusty roof tin... it's seriously SNAKEY out there in the summer, so thanks for the reminder to check it while the Creepy Crawlies spend the winter in Arizona. And thanks for the reminder that God is good! I'll give you a big amen on that... and you give Jack cupcakes for breakfast! Whatever he wants! Glad all is well.
!!! So glad he's okay. HOW. SCARY. Agreed, there are angels among us, T. <3

It is scary to see how things can sometimes change in the blink of an eye! So thankful that he was pulled to safety and with minor injuries. And yes, seeing God firsthand, pretty wicked cool.
